Nick Jonas Announces Solo Tour and Tour Dates : Teen idol Nick Jonas is stepping away from his brothers and going on tour in January with his new band The Administration.
Jonas, 17, the youngest member of the boy band the Jonas Brothers, told fans in a Twitter message that he would play 14 dates with his solo project, starting in Dallas on Jan. 2 and ending in Berkeley, California on Jan. 30.
"I am so excited!" Jonas tweeted late on Monday. "I just have to say thanks to my brothers for being as supportive as they've been."
Called Nick Jonas and The Administration, the band releases their first single on Wednesday and their debut album, "Who I Am" in February. The teen singer and songwriter formed the band to work on songs "not quite right for the Jonas Brothers," his representatives said.
But Jonas assured fans that his side project does not mean the end of the Jonas Brothers, one of the most successful U.S. boy bands of recent years and stars of their own Disney Channel TV show "JONAS."
"This is something that can definitely co-exist with the Jonas Brothers," he told People magazine on Tuesday. But he said performing without his brothers Joe and Kevin will be strange. "I've never really stood center stage before. It's going to be different but I'm looking forward to it."

Nick Jonas Announces Solo Tour, Kevin and Joe Most Likely Miss Him Already : The youngest Jonas Brother is returning to his solo act days—he’s hitting the road sans his older siblings to try out his “heart and soul” music on the people. Nick Jonas and the Administration (including three members of Prince’s New Power Generation!) announced their upcoming North American tour dates on their MySpace blog. Let’s see how many teens and adults unaccompanied by children flock to see just one (funky?) Jonas instead of the trifecta.
While Jonas breakup speculation persists, Nick insists his new project can “co-exist” with his other family business. Will Nick’s tour get the big-screen, 3D treatment like the JoBros’ last outing? Yeeeah, we doubt it, though it’d be hard to do any worse than the guys’ most recent box-office performance. Nick will however have a big enough coming out party: he and the Administration will be among the legion of acts taking the stage at the Grammy nominations concert. ... Source ...

Nick Jonas Announces Tour With The Administration, Thanks Kevin & Joe For Their Support : LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Nick Jonas is leaving the Jonas Brothers behind -- for now. The youngest of the trio, 17-year-old Nick, will embark on a month-long tour with his new band, Nick Jonas & The Administration, beginning January 2, 2010 in Dallas, Texas.
According to a posting on the Jonas Brothers' MySpace page on Monday, Nick headed to Nashville's Black Bird Studios earlier this year, where he recorded a host of songs he'd written over the last three years that were "not quite right" for the JoBros.
Joining Nick in the studio were a number of musicians which eventually were dubbed The Administration. The outfit included drummer Michael Bland and keyboardist Tommy Barbarella who have played in the New Power Generation, and John Fields on bass.
The album - "Who I Am" -- will drop February 2 (Groundhog Day) on Hollywood Records. A single of the same name was released today, Nick noted on his Twitter.
The new band with the teen music titan will make one of their first big music appearances performing at the Grammy Nominations Concert Live! Special, airing Wednesday December 2 on CBS at 9 PM.
And as for the January jaunt, Nick said it will be an experience.
"With this tour we're going to try to accomplish the same thing we did in the studio. That's capturing some heart and soul in the music, and having fun doing it," he said in a statement.
While Nick will spend early 2010 on the road without Kevin and Joe Jonas, he Tweeted on Monday night how grateful he was to them for their support.
"I just have to say thanks to my brothers for being as supportive as they've been," he wrote. ... Source ...
